In 2010, our Chairman and CEO initiated an Anti-Hazing clause designed to eradicate hazing and protect the Mu Phi Sigma legacy. Our goal was to develop in our percussive talents that focus on mentoring and service to the community amongst the fraternal brothers and sisters within our illustrious organization. Our clause has been apart of our constitution and bylaws since our incorporation in 2010. In order to redefine this clause on hazing our Risk Management Department of the General Council has outline our policy.
During the time of the Intake Development Process, all collegiate and local chapters are to provide a time in which the Anti-Hazing awareness policy is reviewed, discussed, and signed by perspective members. The expectation is that the collegiate and local chapter presidents will facilitate distribution of the policy as well as require the attendance of the dean of pledges and assistant dean of pledges. We recognize the challenges that many chapters may face when planning their schedule to facilitate such review of policy. Therefore, the anti-hazing forms are posted for all chapter and regional executives under the member section of our digital homespace. However, THE GENERAL COUNCIL HAS MANDATED that before the Intake Development Process occurs, Regional Directors should have record of such policy review in order to approve the intake. Proof of this review can be confirmed by submission of signed Anti-Hazing forms submitted by the collegiate and local chapter presidents who facilitated the review.
Anti-Hazing Policy Review Protocol:
Mu Phi Sigma members, this is the opportunity to uphold our Anti-Hazing policy that governs our Intake Development Process as a brotherhood. It is our efforts that Mu Phi Sigma creates an environment that allows our Percussive Fraternity to flourish for years to come and provide a safe environment for prospective and current members.
Thank you for your support!
